LinkedIn Learning supports the AICC standard for integration with external Learning Management Systems (LMS). Since the BAI LMS supports the AICC standard, you can download LinkedIn Learning courses and load them into the BAI LMS as unique courses for your learners to complete. Once LinkedIn Learning courses are loaded into the BAI LMS, you can take advantage of the numerous features within it that are designed specifically for the financial services industry. These features include:
- Email notifications designed to drive training completions
- A user interface that prioritizes and displays learning by due date
- The ability to track learners’ statuses in a course, such as; Assigned, In-Progress, Unsuccessful, Successful
- Completion reporting designed specifically for regulatory examination needs
- An assignment engine designed for automated and highly targeted training plans
- Discoverability of LinkedIn Learning courses in the BAI Learning Manager
- And more!
Question: Will learners have to sign into LinkedIn Learning in order to take these classes?
Answer: Yes. AICC is an LMS integration standard and not an authentication standard. This means that when a user launches a LinkedIn Learning course in the BAI LMS for the first time, they will have to authenticate into their account to view LinkedIn Learning Content. If you have Single Sign-On (SAML 2.0) set up with LinkedIn Learning, it will be used for authentication. Otherwise, learners will need to enter their username & password to gain access but can save their credentials in their browser for easy future access.
Question: If my learner completes a LinkedIn Learning course through the BAI LMS is the completion tracked in both systems?
Answer: Yes, for all LinkedIn Learning course launched through the BAI LMS, the completion will track in both LMS and LinkedIn Learning. This includes both transcripts and reports.
Question: If a learner navigates directly to LinkedIn Learning, or launches additional courses in LinkedIn Learning after completing an initial one from the LMS, is this activity sent back to the LMS?
Answer: No, in order for communication to be sent back to the LMS, the course must be launched through the LMS and the LinkedIn Learning course must have been loaded as a custom course.
Question: Can I prevent learners from navigating away from the LinkedIn Learning course launched through the LMS to browse other courses?
Answer: Yes, in the AICC integration section in LinkedIn Learning there is a ‘Focused Learning’ option at the bottom of the page. Selecting ‘Focus learners on a course’ restricts their ability to browse or search for other courses.
